Hi, This is W. K. CEO of the Host Mayo. I am very sorry for the inconvenience clients have to face due to this once in a century tragedy. Our server was in raid 1 setup and every thing was mirrored on two disks. All the backups were taken monthly on the server itself and quarterly off the server. One disk died on Sunday and we replaced it instantly but instead of duplicating the data the mirrored drive also got corrupted. All our backups became unrecoverable. We then recovered from offsite backup.
Lesson learned hard way
1. Even raid setup doesnt protects data.
2. Always take offsite backups.
